Depeche Mode return with Sounds of the Universe, single "Wrong", an iTunes Season Pass and plan Special Edition CD/DVD and Deluxe Box Set packages, plus a summer tour.
Ground-breaking British electronic act return to the forefront of the electronica spotlight with their new single “Wrong”. The new track previews their 12th studio album, which will be released worldwide on April 12, 2009 as previously reported. The mesmerizing new track is already climbing the dance charts. Depeche Mode iTunes Season PassTo coincide with the release of their new album, Depeche Mode become the first act to be given an iTunes Season Pass. Proving popular on the American iTunes store, for a pre-determined price television fans can purchase entire TV seasons before they have been aired. As shows become available, episodes download automatically. Taking this formula and applying it to big name bands, iTunes has intruded the musical equivalent with Depeche Mode’s new album. For just under 20 dollars, fans can buy the Depeche Mode Season Pass, new single “Wrong” downloads automatically as well as “Oh Well (Black Light Odyssey Dub)”. The album in its entirety will download as it becomes available as will future releases from the band such as singles, videos, remixes other rarities. Since the decline in CD sales has hit the record industry hard, it has been looking at ways to secure sales. Offering a one stop season pass not only benefits the record company – the price being slightly higher than the original album –it also gives fans much more material to enjoy from one of the world’s biggest bands. Sounds of the Universe Special Edition CD/DVD and Deluxe Box SetAlongside the iTunes Season Pass, Sounds of the Universe will be available as a special edition double vinyl LP. Depeche Mode ‘Tour of the Universe’ DatesIn support of their new album, Sounds of the Universe, Depeche Mode kicks off their North American Tour Of The Universe beginning in Toronto on July 24h, 2009. On their last tour they played to 2.8 million people across 31 countries. Tickets go on sale March 13, 2009.

The band has recorded 11 studio albums during their twenty eight year recording career and has sold over 100 million albums worldwide according to their label.
